About Me

Jon headshot I have been in the lock & security industry for my entire 45 year working career. I started out in the Washington DC area and built a very successful locksmith shop which I sold in 1989. During that time I was an elected officer of the local locksmith association, and also the Associated Locksmiths of America. This gave me access to some very good contacts in the industry and build some lasting friendships. I was also an active instructor at locksmith conventions with my specialty being electronic access control systems (card readers).

I left the DC area and helped form TESA/Entry Systems in Atlanta. That company ultimately became Onity, Inc., one of the largest producers of electronic hotel locks in the world. I worked in the R&D Department and also ran the Corporate University. My name is on five of Onity’s patents. During my time with Onity I traveled all over the world and gained a wide knowledge of other cultures, locking mechanisms, and manufacturing techniques.

Today I live with my wife Cathy near Elberton Ga. I still teach security topics to locksmiths, law enforcement, and government agencies.

From my base office in Elberton, I service the counties of Elbert, Hart, Wilkes, Franklin, Madison, Oglethorpe, Lincolnton, and Stevens. You can also visit the store in downtown Elberton (call first). I’m sure we can solve your lock or key problem.

NOTE: My consulting and teaching assignments occasionally take me out of town, so if you don’t hear back from me within the hour, that is probably the reason.
